How we treat your information
weracer is for drivers from 14 years old, so we keep as little as we can and we say why we keep it.
This is a summary in plain words. The full privacy policy is published before launch.
Our five promises
-
Only what we need
We ask for as little as possible.
-
Private stays private
Private details, like your birthday, are never shown to anyone. We don't store your birthday, only that you are 14 or older.
-
Never sold
We never sell your personal data. Ever.
-
You're in control
You can delete your account from Settings at any time.
-
Location on your terms
Approximate, and asked only when you tap.
What we keep, and why
| What | Why | For how long |
|---|---|---|
| Your Sign in with Apple ID | To know it's you. If you hide your email, Apple gives us a private relay address instead. | Until you delete your account |
| Your name and email from Apple | To create and secure your account. Apple shares them only the first time you authorize the app, and we keep what we received. | Until you delete your account |
| Your @handle | Your public name on the leaderboard. It is not your real name. You set it once and can't change it for now. | Until you delete your account; held 30 days after, then released |
| That you're 14 or older | The app is for drivers 14 and older. The app checks your birthday on your phone and sends us only a yes. We don't keep your birthday. | Until you delete your account |
| Sessions and laps | Your track, layout, kart class and times are the leaderboard. | Until you delete them or your account |
| Timing ticket photos | Only to check that a lap is real. We keep the decision, not the photo. | Deleted 24 hours after the check, or 7 days after upload if nobody checked it |
Where it lives
We plan to host our server in Spain and keep backups in an EU region; the full policy will confirm where. A short list of service providers helps us run weracer: network security and hosting, sign-in, crash reports and email. The full privacy policy names each one.
Location
The app asks for your location only when you tap to use it, for example to find a circuit. That location can become a saved circuit spot.
Your rights
- Delete your account in Settings, any time. Deleting removes or anonymises your data everywhere we keep it.
- Ask or complain: to ask for access, correction, deletion or anything else about your data, write to [email protected]. You can also contact your data protection authority.
Friends and contacts
Finding friends through your contacts is coming later. It is not in the app today.
